Tengo un art\u00edculo pendiente para Teresa Agirreazaldegi<\/a>, que no consigo sacar adelante. Deber\u00eda recoger el contenido de mi presentaci\u00f3n en las II Jornadas sobre Documentaci\u00f3n y Gesti\u00f3n de los Contenidos Digitales<\/a>,<\/em> pero no me satisface convertir en texto las diapositivas<\/a>, ni abundar en los materiales que JosuKa D\u00edaz Labrador y yo ya impartimos en el \u00faltimo curso de doctorado<\/a>.<\/p>\n

El furor de Twitter<\/p><\/div>\n

Cada d\u00eda aparecen novedades en la gesti\u00f3n de contenidos y el tiempo que dedico a revisarlos disminuye hasta anular el tiempo que deber\u00eda dedicar a escribir el art\u00edculo. Hoy por ejemplo he estado probando Seesmic<\/a>, despu\u00e9s de leer la \u00faltima entrada de Mashable<\/a> a la que he llegado desde GoogleReader<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This week, with\u00a0Twitter Lists<\/a> on the brain, it seemed like a great time to put two fantastic\u00a0Twitter\"Twitter\"<\/a><\/span><\/span> desktop clients in a head-to-head matchup.\u00a0Seesmic Desktop\"Seesmic<\/a><\/span><\/span> may have already\u00a0added support for lists<\/a>, but\u00a0TweetDeck promises they\u2019ll release support soon<\/a> as well.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Twitter Lists are Twitter\u2019s long awaited \u201cgroups\u201d feature. They offer a way for you to bunch together other users on Twitter into groups so that you can get an overview of what they\u2019re up to. That\u2019s because Lists aren\u2019t just static listings of users, but rather curated\u00a0Twitter<\/a>\"Twitter\"<\/a><\/span> streams of the latest tweets from a specified set of users.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Mashable<\/a> es una revista-blog especializada en comunicaci\u00f3n 2.0 a la que recientemente estoy prestando mucha atenci\u00f3n y de la que Wikipedia aporta los siguientes datos<\/a> (3.11.2009):<\/p>\n

Mashable is popular on many social networks. As of\u00a0October 6<\/a><\/span>,\u00a02009<\/a><\/span>, it has over 1.5 million Twitter followers, nearly 50,000 fans on Facebook, and over 300,000\u00a0RSS<\/a> subscribers.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Pero si Mashable me ha llevado a Seesmic es sobre todo porque se trata de una herramienta m\u00e1s para abordar el fen\u00f3meno Twitter, que este a\u00f1o quiero introducir en la asignatura Gesti\u00f3n de fondos digitales<\/em><\/a> (3\u00ba de Filolog\u00eda inglesa y vasca, y que el a\u00f1o que viene dar\u00e9 en Web communication tools<\/em>, una asignatura de 2\u00ba curso del nuevo grado en Lenguas Modernas).<\/p>\n

El art\u00edculo de Wikipedia sobre Twitter<\/a> es excelente como introducci\u00f3n (la versi\u00f3n inglesa tiene una menci\u00f3n de calidad<\/a>) y estos son algunos extractos escogidos.<\/p>\n

Sobre su uso en la universidad:<\/p>\n

The\u00a0University of Vienna<\/a>, Austria, used Twitter as an evaluation platform for\u00a0student ratings<\/a>. Every student had to send a tweet after each course unit with feedback to the teacher. Twitter turned out to be “a useful tool for evaluating a course formatively. Because of Twitter’s simple use and the electronic handling of data, the administrative effort remains small.”[<\/span>82]<\/span><\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

According to\u00a0telegraph.co.uk<\/a>, Twitter is put on the new primary school curriculum. Children should be able to “organise and adjust” speaking and writing skills depending on the technology being used, including using “emails, messaging, wikis and twitters”. During the primary years, children should also be taught to speak, write and broadcast using “blogs, podcasts, websites, email [and] video”.[<\/span>84]<\/span><\/a><\/sup><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

En apoyo de campa\u00f1as pol\u00edticas, como la reciente en defensa del sistema p\u00fablico de sanidad brit\u00e1nico, mediante el hashtag<\/em> (o etiqueta-almohadilla) #welovetheNHS<\/a>:<\/p>\n

In August 2009, when American opponents of\u00a0President<\/a> Barack Obama<\/a>‘s\u00a0health insurance reform proposals<\/a> attacked the British\u00a0National Health Service<\/a>, thousands of NHS users took part in a Twitter campaign expressing their support for the NHS with use of the #welovetheNHS hashtag. The hashtag was initiated by\u00a0Irish<\/a> comedy writer<\/a> Graham Linehan<\/a>, who said he wanted to use a twitter campaign “as a counterweight against the lies of the American right”.[<\/span>102]<\/span><\/a><\/sup> The campaign also received the support of several politicians including\u00a0British Prime Minister<\/a> Gordon Brown<\/a>.[<\/span>103]<\/span><\/a><\/sup>[<\/span>104]<\/span><\/a><\/sup>[<\/span>105]<\/span><\/a><\/sup><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Por ejemplo, hoy (3 de noviembre de 2009) una de las etiquetas m\u00e1s calientes en estos pagos es “celaa<\/a>” (la almohadilla todav\u00eda no ha calado), reflejo del impacto medi\u00e1tico<\/a> obtenido por los nuevos proyectos de decretos curriculares que ayer hizo p\u00fablicos la consejera de Educaci\u00f3n del Gobierno Vasco, Isabel Cela\u00e1.<\/p>\n

Y es que el microblogging es desde el primer momento un fen\u00f3meno que atrae la atenci\u00f3n de tecn\u00f3logos y cient\u00edficos, por razones que reconozco me han sorprendido profundamente.<\/p>\n

Pr\u00f3ximamente (17 de noviembre de 2009) se va a celebrar en \u00a0Londres la 3\u00aa edici\u00f3n<\/a> del congreso 140 Character Conference<\/a> (#140conf<\/a>), animado por Jeff Pulwer<\/a>:<\/p>\n

The original scope of #140conf was to explore \u201cthe effects of twitter on: Celebrity, \u201cThe Media\u201d, Advertising and (maybe) Politics.\u201d Over time the scope expanded to look at the effects of twitter on topics ranging from public safety to public diplomacy.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Erick Schonfeld (2009) explica muy bien la raz\u00f3n del imponente poder de Twitter:<\/p>\n

Twitter has a decided advantage in that it is capturing the vast majority of the real-time thought stream on the Web (because more people enter their thoughts directly into Twitter\u0092s database than any other, and are doing so at an increasing rate). […] In aggregate, what you get is a direct view into consumer sentiment, political sentiment, any kind of sentiment. For companies trying to figure out what people are thinking about their brands, searching Twitter is a good place to start. Microblogging is a new form of communication in which users can describe their current status in short posts distributed by instant messages, mobile phones, email or the Web. Twitter, a popular microblogging tool has seen a lot of growth since it launched in October, 2006. In this paper, we present our observations of the microblogging phenomena by studying the topological and geographical properties of Twitter\u2019s social network. El art\u00edculo es de 2007. La evoluci\u00f3n desde entonces se polariza hacia las herramientas que como Seesmic permiten aprovechar mejor los contenidos canalizados a trav\u00e9s de Twitter. La propia Wikipedia ofrece un art\u00edculo sobre servicios y aplicaciones para Twitter, pero casi prefiero atender a lo que otros usuarios est\u00e1n anotando en Delicious<\/a> (donde reencuentro el art\u00edculo de Jos\u00e9 Luis Orihuela): http:\/\/delicious.com\/tag\/twitter+tools<\/a>. Habr\u00e1 que ver cu\u00e1les herramientas elegimos finalmente. La semana que viene casi seguro mostrar\u00e9 Seesmic<\/a>, Hashtags<\/a>, Monitter<\/a>, Trendsmap<\/a> y otros que puedan consultarse online. \u00bfAlguna sugerencia m\u00e1s?<\/p>\n
