Lourdes Villardón

I am Lourdes Villardón Gallego. I hold a PhD in Psychology and currently work as a professor at the Department of Pedagogy and Curricular Development at the Faculty of Psychology and Education at the University of Deusto. I teach courses at the undergraduate level in Psychology, Social Education, Social Work, and Primary Education; at the master´s level in Teacher Training for Secondary School Teachers; and at the doctoral level in the PhD programme in Education (courses taught: Developmental Psychology, Basic Psychology, and Educational Research). My research work involves pedagogical methodologies and interactive environments for the development and evaluation of competences.

Manuela Álvarez

I am Manuela Álvarez-Álvarez. I hold a doctorate in Hispanic Philology from the University of Deusto and a master´s degree in Teacher Training for Teachers of Spanish as a Foreign Language from the University of the Basque Country. I am currently a full professor at the Department of Modern Languages and Basque Studies at the University of Deusto, teaching courses on discourse analysis, teaching linguistic competences (more specifically academic writing), and language pedagogy in a number of undergraduate programmes (Modern Languages, Humanities, Primary Education) and in the master´s programme Teacher Training for Secondary Education Teachers. My research work focuses on discursive studies of academic texts as well as the teaching-learning processes involved in academic writing.

Arantza Arruti

I am Arantza Arruti Gómez. I earned my PhD in Pedagogy from the University of Deusto.  I am an expert in leisure education and a member of UD´s Department of Pedagogy and Curricular Development at the Faculty of Psychology and Education and of the Educational Innovation Unit of the same faculty. At present, I teach courses at the undergraduate level in Primary Education and Social Education; at the master´s level in Project Management in Leisure, Culture, Sports, and Recreation; and at the doctoral level in the PhD programme in Leisure, Culture and Communication for Human Development. My teaching topics include:  general pedagogy in the social sciences, socio-educational programme design, student-centred learning, and leisure in natural environments. My research work focuses on entrepreneurship training, leisure education in natural environments, competence development, and pedagogical methodologies.

María José Bezanilla

I am María José Bezanilla, PhD in Education from the Institute of Education of University of London and associate professor of education at the Department of Innovation and Educational Organisation at University of Deusto. I am currently the coordinator of the doctoral programme in Education in the Faculty of Psychology and Education. I teach undergraduate courses in Primary Education and Social Education. My research areas are the development and evaluation of competences in higher education and methods and resources for teaching and learning. In addition to teaching and research activities I do management and training work at the Teaching Innovation Unit of Deusto University, with particular emphasis on Research and Transversal competences.

I am Iciar Elexpuru Albizuri. I earned PhD in Psychology and my university degrees in Pedadogy and Psychology from the University of Deusto. I am a full professor at the Department of Pedagogy and Curricular Development at the Faculty of Psychology and Education at the same university. I teach undergraduate courses in Primary Education and Social Education; master´s courses in the Erasmus Mundus Masters in Lifelong Learning: Policy and Management, and courses in the PhD in Education programme (courses taught: Psychology of Development, Learning and Development of Personality, Ethics, Service Learning, and Research Seminars). I am also the coordinator of the European Masters in Lifelong Learning: Policy and Management. My research work focuses on values development and evaluation and lifelong learning and training. Lirio Flores

I am Lirio Gissela Flores Moncada. I earned my PhD in Educational Innovation and Lifelong Learning from the University of Deusto, my master´s in special education needs from the University of Deusto, and my university degree in education from the Universidad Pedagógica Nacional “Francisco Morazán” in Honduras. At present, I am a researcher in eDucaR and a professor at the Faculty of Psychology and Education, teaching mention courses in special needs education and master´s courses in Teacher Training of Secondary Education, Post-Compulsory Education, and English Language Teachers. My work trajectory has involved tutoring roles and supervision of undergraduate and master´s theses and internships in various centres. I had previously worked as a director of bilingual educational institutions, as a professor of English teaching, and as an early intervention professional. My research interests are inclusive education, attitudes towards diversity, teacher training and in-service training for English teachers, and inclusive practices.

Rocio García

I am Rocío García, Ikerbasque Research Fellow at the Faculty of Psychology and Education at the University of Deusto. I was a Marie Curie researcher at the Faculty of Education at the University of Cambridge and associate researcher at Wolfson College. I earned my PhD from the University of Barcelona and my research work and interests include dialogic learning in primary education, interactions between students and diverse adult populations, and intellectual and social development in children. I have worked on these research areas within various European grant frameworks (FP6, FP7, H2020) and have been involved in four research projects within the National Plan for Research and Development, one of which as principal researcher at the European level.  I have also published in high-impact education and psychology journals. These contributions are part of successful educational actions that have led to improved academic results and coexistence and are currently being applied in more than 600 academic institutions around the world. At present, I am the president of the Multidisciplinary Educational Research Association (AMIE, o Asociación Multidisciplinar de Investigación Educativa in Spanish) and the representative of the World Educational Research Association (WERA).

Ana García-Olalla

Soy Ana García-Olalla. Soy doctora en Pedagogía por la Universidad de Deusto. Profesora Titular en la Facultad de Piscología y Educación de la Universidad de Deusto, donde imparto docencia en los grados de Educación Primaria y Educación Social, y en el Master de Dirección y Gestión de centros. Actualmente soy directora del Departamento de Innovación y organización educativa, y responsable de Evaluación y Calidad de la docencia en la Unidad de Innovación Docente. He sido coordinadora del Master en Dirección y Gestión de Centros, de la Formación continua de directivos y su Seminario permanente; formadora de profesores y equipos directivos; y asesora de centros. I am Oihane Korres. I earned my PhD in Educational Innovation and Lifelong Learning from the University of Deusto. I also finished my master´s in Compulsory Secondary Education, Post-Compulsory education, and Language Teaching from the same university, my undergraduate in Audiovisual Communication from the University of the Basque Country, and a higher technical course in Audiovisual Production from Instituto Tartanga. At present, I am a professor at the Faculty of Psychology and Education at the University of Deusto, teaching undergraduate courses in Primary Education as well as master´s courses in Teacher Training for Secondary, Post-Compulsory, and Language Teachers. I have carried out research on values development, adolescence, communication and media, and ICT as part of eDucaR.

Zoe Martínez de la Hidalga

I am Zoe Martínez de la Hidalga and I hold a Ph.D. in Education from the University of Deusto. I am currently working as a professor at the Department of Pedagogy and Curriculum Development – Faculty of Psychology and Education and as a director of the master´s programme in Teacher Training for Secondary Teachers at the same university. I teach in the undergraduate program Primary Education (courses taught: Family and School, Internship, Undergraduate Thesis) and in the master´s Teacher Training for Secondary Teachers (courses taught: Family and Education, Tutoring, Career Guidance, Teacher Identity, and Master´s Thesis). Jessica Paños 

I am Jessica Paños Castro. I finished my Business Administration and Management degree from the University of the Basque Country, my Primary Education degree from the University of Deusto, and my master´s in Project Management and Development of Innovative Didactic Methodologies in Educational Institutions from the University of Mondragón. At present, I am a professor and an early stage researcher at the Faculty of Psychology and Education, teaching undergraduate classes in Primary Education, Physical Activity and Sports Sciences, Social Education, and Social Work. I am Visitación Pereda Herrero. I hold a degree in Pedadogy from the University of Deusto and a PhD in Educational Sciences from the University of Oporto in Portugal. I am currently a titular professor at the Departments of Innovation, Pedagogy, and Organization and Curricular Development at the University of Deusto. I teach undergraduate classes in Primary Education and Social Work and Social Education, at the master´s level in Teacher Training for Secondary Teachers and in Educational Management and Leadership, and at the doctoral level in the PhD in Education programme (courses taught: Educational Theory, Contemporary Educational Systems, Internship with English mention, Leadership and Management, Management as Teamwork, Organization, and Operations and Design of Teacher Training Centres). I also coordinate the master´s programme Educational Management and Leadership. I am Erlantz Velasco Luzuriaga. I earned my PhD in Education from the University of Deusto. I also hold a university degree in History as well as a master´s degree in Teacher Training for Secondary, Post-Compulsory, and Language Teachers. Beatriz Villarejo

BeaI am Beatriz Villarejo Carballido and I hold a PhD in Education from the University of Barcelona. I am currently a postdoctoral researcher in the research team eDucaR at the University of Deusto. I have participated in various competitive projects (FP6 and I+D) and have published in high-impact scientific journals in education. My research work focuses on preventive socialization of online videogames and adolescents, social inclusion, democratic participation in vulnerable groups, and educational improvement.

Concepción Yániz

ConcepcionYanizI am Concepción Yániz Alvarez de Eulate. I hold a Ph.D. in Educational Sciences, a master´s degree in Neuroscience, and university degrees in Pedagogy and Psychology. I currently work as a titular professor at the Department of Pedagogy and Curricular Development – Faculty of Psychology and Education at the University of Deusto. At the same university, I teach the course Psychology in Education in the Primary Education undergraduate programme, Developmental Psychology in the Education and Social Work programmes, and Learning and Personality Development the master´s programme Teacher Training for Secondary Teachers. At the doctoral level, I teach Publication in Scientific Journals and facilitate a number of research seminars. I am also the coordinator of the PhD programme (DIRS). Lara Yáñez

I am Lara Yáñez Marquina. I hold a university degree in Physics from the University of the Basque Country and a PhD in Education from the University of Deusto. I currently work as a professor at the Department of Pedagogy and Cirricular Development at the Faculty of Psychology and Education at the same university. I teach undergraduate classes in Primary Education and Special Needs Education (courses taught: Natur Zientziak eta bere Didaktika, Matematika eta bere Didaktika II and Matematika eta bere Didaktika III). I am also professor and special tutor in the master´s programme Teacher Training for Secondary Teachers. My research interests involve the affective dimensions (anxiety and attitudes) in mathematics learning, mathematics competence development, and the moderating effect of various methodologies in mathematics learning.

RESEARCH IN TRAINING::

Icy Anabo 

Icy I am Icy Anabo Fresno. I hold a university degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of the Philippines-Manila and had worked as a pediatric occupational therapist for six years with children with special needs before finishing my Erasmus Mundus Joint Master´s in Lifelong Learning: Policy and Management from the UCL Institute of Education in the UK and the University of Deusto. I am currently an early stage researcher and an FPI scholar at the University of Deusto. As part of my PhD work, I am proposing and testing a model to evaluate student transformation as an outcome of international degree mobility using Sen´s Capability Approach in combination with critical realism and Bourdieu´s thinking tools, offering an alternative to the narrow focus on performance that dominates current approaches to judging educational programmes´ merit and worth. My other research interests include aspirations and agency development in and through education, inclusive pedagogy and systems, and transitions to employment. As a researcher in training, I have participated in drafting competitive H2020 grant proposals on education and inclusion.

Ariane Diaz Iso

I hold a university degree in Primary Education from the University of Deusto and a master´s degree in Advanced Studies in Language, Communication and its Pathologies from the University of Salamanca. I am currently a pre-doctoral researcher at the University of Deusto as well as a collaborator in ONISEE project where we are analyzing the impact and role of Higher Education Institutions in the socio-economic development of regions.

Luana Ferreira

I am Luana Ferreira from Sao Paulo, Brazil. I am currently an early stage researcher and FPI scholar at the Faculty of Psychology and Education at the University of Deusto. I hold a university degree in Pedagogy and a master´s in Business. After working for 9 years in the energy sector, I decided to go back to teaching and training and finished my Erasmus Mundus Joint Master´s in Lifelong Learning: Policy and Management in Copenhagen and Bilbao. I developed a deeper interest in intercultural relationships as a result of this experience, thus paving the way for my current research interests and work on virtual mobility, more specifically the use of technologies in connecting groups of higher education students from different countries to develop their intercultural competence.

Andrea Khalfaoui

I am Andrea Khalfaoui Larrañaga. I hold a university degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of the Basque Country and a master´s degree in Research in Socio-Educational Fields form the same university. I am currently a pre-doctoral researcher and an FPI scholar at the University of Deusto as well as a meber of the network Subred Universitaria for the promotion of educational research on Communities of Learning (IKUBAS). I am also a collaborator in an I+D project managed by the University of Deusto. My PhD thesis focuses on the improvement of coexistence, learning, and development in early childhood years through intercultural interactions, which basically outlines my main research interests.

I am Olga Khokhotva. I have a Bachelor degree in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from Semey State Pedagogical University (Kazakhstan), Master’s degree in Erasmus Mundus Master in Lifelong Learning: Policy and Management (joined degree of Aarhus University (Denmark), Deusto University (Spain), and University College London (UK)). I am also a certified teacher trainer holding the certificate from the University of Cambridge. Currently I am a PhD student and an FPI research assistant at the University of Deusto. My research interests include: effective teaching and learning, adult learning and professional development, values development, policy analysis and Lesson Study approach to teachers’ professional learning.
