Varios avances en la promoci\u00f3n de la igualdad y la paz para las mujeres en el mundo se atribuyen a este documento aprobado en 1995 en la IV Conferencia Mundial de la Mujer que sigue siendo un referente para la comunidad internacional. Los resultados de la Plataforma y sus documentos y sus revisiones posteriores son un legado plasmado en un conjunto de objetivos estrat\u00e9gicos, a los que han seguido las acciones necesarias para alcanzarlos en doce \u00e1reas prioritarias.
