United Nations’ operations under investigation for sexual misconduct

United Nations’ operations carried out in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Kosovo, Bosnia, Haiti, Burundi and Liberia faced scandals in the past regarding sexual misconduct. Recently, The Guardian has obtained a leaked United Nations report revealing the alleged sexual abuse of 10 boys as young as 8 in an internally displaced people camp in Bangui, Central African Republic. The alleged abuses have put the spotlight on several French soldiers while an UN aid worker, Anders Kompass, is under investigation owing to the disclosure. French President has stated that no mercy will be given if the abuses get confirmed, and the French army promises zero tolerance, too.
