He has been the Principal Investigator of the Deusto Smart Mobility research team, recognised by the Basque Government (Type A) until this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From June 2010 to November 2014, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the Information and Communication Technology Research Centre of the University of Granada (Spain), where he also completed his PhD in Computer Science.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He has led work packages in four projects under the European Union\u2019s Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe framework programmes, namely the MOMENTUM, TANGENT, SOTERIA, and SYNCHROMODE projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He has also led two national projects within the Spanish Retos Investigaci\u00f3n programme and an autonomous project under the Elkartek programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His research focuses on the development of new Artificial Intelligence techniques and their application in various fields related to the mobility of people and goods, such as traffic management, road safety, and logistics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His scientific outputs include four books, 30 articles in high-impact scientific journals, and participation in more than 40 national and international conferences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Key publications<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>E.
