Elena Atienza es Investigadora Ram\u00f3n y Cajal del Ministerio de Ciencia, Innovaci\u00f3n y Universidades (Espa\u00f1a) en la Universidad de Deusto (Espa\u00f1a) y pertenece al equipo de investigaci\u00f3n Integraci\u00f3n europea y derecho patrimonial en un contexto global de su Facultad de Derecho.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Su carrera investigadora se ha desarrollado en un centro de investigaci\u00f3n del m\u00e1s alto nivel: la C\u00e1tedra Interuniversitaria de Derecho y Genoma Humano, Universidad de Deusto-Universidad del Pa\u00eds Vasco UPV\/EHU (Espa\u00f1a). Un periodo de investigaci\u00f3n muy fruct\u00edfero que culmin\u00f3 con una beca Postdoctoral del Gobierno Vasco y m\u00e1s tarde, con una beca Postdoctoral Juan de la Cierva del Ministerio de Ciencia, Innovaci\u00f3n y Universidades. Destaca su dilatada experiencia internacional, con estancias de investigaci\u00f3n en el Centro de Direito Biom\u00e9dico, Universidad de Coimbra (Portugal); en el Centre de Documentation et de Recherches Europ\u00e9ennes, Universit\u00e9 de Pau et des Pays de l\u00b4Adour (Francia), en la National and Kapodistrian, University of Athens (Grecia), en el Dipartimento di Giurisprudenza, Universit\u00e0 di Pisa (Italia) y en el Catolica Research Centre for the Future of Law – Universidade Cat\u00f3lica Portuguesa (Portugal). Adem\u00e1s, cuenta con amplia experiencia en gesti\u00f3n, habiendo sido coordinadora de la Revista de Derecho y Genoma Humano (Editorial Dykinson) y, recientemente, ha sido nombrada directora del Diploma Experto en Derecho Sanitario de la Facultad de Derecho de la Universidad de Deusto. Cargo que engarza con su
l\u00ednea de investigaci\u00f3n fundamental: derecho sanitario.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As\u00ed, sus ejes centrales de investigaci\u00f3n son el bioderecho y la bio\u00e9tica y el derecho sanitario, que incluyen temas relativos a los derechos fundamentales y gen\u00e9tica, salud sexual y reproducci\u00f3n humana y genoma; derecho y medicina; medicina del deporte; dopaje y biotecnolog\u00edas. Su tesis doctoral versaba sobre \u201cLas respuestas del Derecho a las nuevas manifestaciones de dopaje en el deporte\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elena Atienza is a Ram\u00f3n y Cajal Research Fellow, funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, at the University of Deusto (Spain). She is a member of the research team European Integration and Patrimonial Law in a Global Context, within the Faculty of Law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She has developed her research career within a leading international research centre: The Inter-University Chair in Law and the Human Genome, jointly run by the University of Deusto and the University of the Basque Country (UPV\/EHU). This highly productive period culminated in a Postdoctoral Fellowship from the Basque Government, followed by a Juan de la Cierva Postdoctoral Fellowship from the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities. She has extensive international research experience, having undertaken research stays at several prestigious institutions: el Centro de Direito Biom\u00e9dico, University of Coimbra (Portugal); the Centre de Documentation et de Recherches Europ\u00e9ennes, Universit\u00e9 de Pau et des Pays de l\u00b4Adour (France); the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (Greece), the Dipartimento di Giurisprudenza, Universit\u00e0 di Pisa (Italy) and the Cat\u00f3lica Research Centre for the Future of Law – Universidade Cat\u00f3lica Portuguesa (Portugal). In addition to her academic work, she has significant experience in academic management. She served as coordinator of the Revista de Derecho y Genoma Humano (Dykinson Publishing), and was recently appointed Director of the \u00abExpert Diploma in Health Law\u00bb offered by the Law School at the University of Deusto. This role aligns closely with her primary research focus: Health Law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her main areas of research include Biolaw, Bioethics, and Health Law, covering topics such as Fundamental Rights and Genetics; Sexual Health and Human Reproduction; Genomics; Law and Medicine; Sports Medicine; Doping; and Biotechnologies. Her doctoral thesis explored \u201cLas respuestas del Derecho a las nuevas manifestaciones de dopaje en el deporte\u201d (Legal responses to new forms of doping in sport).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
