Emakumeak Zientzian
Translated as “Women in Science”, it aims at promoting the presence of women in the field of science and research, seeking to increase their visibility and participation in scientific disciplines, especially in fields where they have historically been underrepresented.
The initiative (https://emakumeakzientzian.eus/es/) promotes gender equality and aims to make the work of women scientists visible, recognizing their contribution to science. It also focuses on creating spaces and resources to support women scientists, helping to overcome the gender barriers that still exist in the academic and professional spheres.
Emakumeak Zientzian organizes events, outreach activities, and educational workshops highlighting the work of women scientists and aims to inspire young women to pursue scientific careers by showcasing examples of successful women in research.
In short, it is an initiative that seeks to change social perception, promote gender equality, and encourage greater participation of women in science.
From the Engineering Faculty, I have personally participated in the coordination group for two years and from 2023 developing activities in STEAM for high school students.
